Patricia Tobin
President of St Luke's Service League
Patricia Tobin has volunteered for St. Luke's Medical Center/ Steward Healthcare and scholarship committee since 2009. She has actively participated on the Board of Trustees since 2010 and currently serves as the President. Prior to this position Patricia served as Vice President, volunteer to visit patients with magazines and Books.
She as been a member of Maricopa 10 Foster Care Review Board, A Big Sister and a recent volunteer with the NASH JAZZ Club downtown Phoenix. Patricia brings to the Board more than 30 years of educational experience as a retired high school administrator.
Bob Heffernan
VP/Finances of St Luke's Service League
Bob is originally from Chicago, holds an MBA degree from Northwestern University and is a veteran. He held various management positions in The Logistics and Customer Service department at The Dial Corporation during his working years and has been volunteering at St. Luke’s since 1990. He and his wife live in Phoenix.
Mel Hinton
VP/Operations of St Luke's Service League
Melvin Glenn Hinton was born in Greenville, MS. He attended Westwood High School and participated in honors choir, track, and baseball. Melvin attended Mesa Community College in the mid 1970's majoring in business. Mel became licensed as a LPN then an RN and worked for Maricopa Medical Center for 20 years. He has experience working in areas such as Medical-Surgical, Emergency Department, Adult Progressive Care, Assistant Nurse Manager and Clinical Resource Specialist. Additionally, he helped develop Policy and Procedures for patient safety. If it were not for one of his seven daughters becoming terminally ill, he would have worked longer. Mel has served on the Scholarship Committee/Board since 2017.
Jeanette Scherwinski
VP/Records of St Luke's Service League
Jeanette Scherwinski was born and raised in California. She is married and has 8 children. While being a primary homemaker to care for her children, Jeanette has often found herself volunteering for various PTA’s, Booster's and other organizations since 1997. She also currently serves on the Design Review Committee for her community Board, as well as Positions on both the High school Softball Boosters Club, and the High school Baseball Boosters Club to help support her children. She has served on the St. Luke’s Service League since 2018.
